Digital Tips has compiled a comprehensive list of manufacturer and retailer take-back and recycling programs.  The EPA has a similar list of retailers and suppliers who will take back old electronics

The Electronics Takeback Coalition and E-cycling Central

Both of these sites are great resources for finding donation, recycling and retail locations that accept electronics  in your area here.

It seems no tech industry is safe from Google, so maybe it was only a matter of time before they started dabbling with becoming an ISP on their own.  The big news this week is that they’ve announced just that – plans to deliver high speed fiber to the door to at least 50,000 customers nationwide.  The number could be more like 500,000, depending on the communities that participate in Google’s offer.

Install It Today (IIT) announces Install It Today University, an online training and certification platform

Install It Today (IIT) has created a certification and education portal where IIT’s service professionals can keep up-to-date with the latest industry products, procedures and best practices.  Additionally, Install It Today University (IIT U) empowers clients to build nationwide networks of trained service professionals who are certified on their unique processes and job details.

Certifications can be used to test for product knowledge, business processes and procedures or for comprehensive installation and service ability.  Orders through IIT can then be routed directly to the best trained service professionals in the industry.

Certifications through IIT U are completely customizable and can be made available both by Install It Today itself and directly by a client.  Certifications can be built in several test formats and with any type of accompanying material.  IIT U even has the ability to brand certifications for individual clients, thus allowing them to build a nationwide network of service professionals certified on their products, services and processes.

IIT’s service professionals have the unique opportunity to build their relationships with IIT’s clients and to further develop their industry knowledge by completing certification courses.
